Sherwood Forest---The Chronicles of Spam / Two weeks away!
« on: April 21, 2018, 05:12:23 PM »
2 weeks out gentlemen! What last minute things do you still need to take care of? I actually think I am on track.

Anybody else starting to get excited?!

Area Games / 2018 Muddy Scenario
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:40:10 AM »
I wanted to pull this from the Children's thread so we can discuss. I am really going to throw my hat in for the Clowns vs Zombies event at Paintball Explosion in October. With CPX closing, this is possibly the only other premier paintball park that is still within drive time for us. At least until we hear more abut Legacy Paintball. Legacy is getting a lot of promotion from the Dagninos (owners of CPX). They have said Legacy is making a large expansion investment so we will see.

Area Games / Caveball 2018

Sounds like Kraus and the BOB's are going down on Feb 25th. That is a Saturday. Do we want to plan on going then too? It may be too short notice for a trip in January already.

Paintball News and Media / Living Legends 11 not at CPX Sports this year
« on: December 13, 2017, 01:49:21 PM »
From Paul Dagnino co-owner of CPX;

CPX to move Living Legends 11 - Inferno, to the legendary Hell Survivors in Pinckney, MI for 2018.

The reason behind the move is the imminent construction of a bridge that will span the Des Plains River and connect Houbolt Rd to an extended Vetter Rd. The project, which is slated to begin in the Spring, will have a construction footprint that includes the eastern most border of CPX Sports - parts of which are close to Living Legends camping, staging, fields of play, and insertion points. In the interests of safety and liability, we’ve made the decision to move the event to an incredible, iconic Midwest paintball park while construction is underway.
The world-famous Hell Survivors is a 180-acre complex, conveniently located less than 45-minutes from Detroit Metro Airport, that has a 35-year history of hosting some of Paintball’s most notable large events - Michigan Monster Game and World Challenge. The neighboring cities of Brighton and Howell have all the amenities you’re used to and have come to expect - including plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars.

It is our sincere hope that you join us as we take Living Legends on the road and bring it to one of Paintball’s most celebrated and historic big game fields. Pre-registration will open tomorrow and feature our best promotional incentives to date.

Paintball News and Media / ASTM approves Shaped Projectiles
« on: October 26, 2017, 04:55:53 PM »
Looks like the ASTM has finally revised and added shaped projectiles (First Strike Rounds) to their safety list. I am not going to pay the $46 to download the PDF but it is all over the Mag-Fed boards that I am a member on.

Area Games / Vietnam Saturday Sept 9

Anyone have any interest in hitting this up with me? I am planning on going and have room in the Stormtrooper if someone needs a ride.

Area Games / Sunday 2/19/17 CJ's for rec play
« on: February 17, 2017, 05:40:31 PM »
Tom Sturges the CO for Broken Arrow has invited any of us that want to roll down to CJ's for a day of rec play Sunday. I can't make it, I have family in town, but he said if anyone wants to go to let me know so I can tell him and he will buy your paint on his membership so you get his discount. Any savings is a good thing!

Gun Tech / Marker Cerakoting
« on: December 07, 2016, 10:50:15 AM »
Ok I know there was already a thread about this but it was way old and I couldn't find it anyway. I made a contact through an OPD buddy of mine with a guy that does more Cerakoting on firearms here in town. I feel he will be more reasonably priced and easier to work with than the guy who did my Axe. I got the impression, with some time of not getting any other paintball work, that the guy I used before would want an arm and a leg to do more markers.

I have reached out to this new guy and left him a voicemail for him to call me. When I hear back I will have more info in regards to pricing ideas, availability, and turn around times. He works for Midwest Firearm Solutions and the pix of the guns he has done look amazing!

Gun Tech / Reg after hydro-testing
« on: November 27, 2016, 07:46:10 PM »
This may be a dumb question, but I bought a new Ninja ref for my Dye tank and am gonna take the tank to General Fire & Safety for hydro testing. Will they install that new reg for me or is that something I will want to wait till we go down the the Caves to have their tech do?  I know they have specific tools for it and I don't wanna booger up a brand new reg.

Friends and Family / Roommate in west O
« on: February 09, 2016, 08:58:18 PM »
Guys and gals I am looking for a third roommate. I have a 3 bedroom house clear out west and want someone in that third bedroom. You would get a garage stall and pretty much wouldn't have to bring anything other than your own bed. My current roommate and I are both pretty clean and do not party at home so it would be quiet and you could come and go as you please. I will talk money with someone if they are interested. Having another roommate will allow me to do the events and stuff that I want to do.

Hit me up if you know of someone reliable that might be interested. House is out on like 196th and Q.

Friends and Family / me and my life
« on: December 09, 2015, 02:39:02 PM »
I am sorry I haven't been around much guys. This is the first time I have logged on to the site since the beginning of October. My hands are shaking and I am about at breakdown point just typing this. Two days after my birthday my fiance tells me that she is unhappy and didn't know if she was still in love with me. It was then that I realized she hadn't been wearing her engagement ring for about a month. It was also then that I realized that the bad vibe that I had been having was centered on a male friend of hers. The long and the short of it is there was some infidelity on her part and she has moved out.
The last two months have been some of the most horrible of my life. I am just this shy of a breakdown at any time. The despair that I feel I haven't felt since my Dad died.  She had the guy at my house to help her move and I said some truly terrible things to her. I felt so horrible about doing that and had a breakdown to my sister on the phone. I miss her so much and there is nothing I can do about it. I love her but I hate her. I want her back but I can't take her back. She won't come back anyway so it really doesn't matter. I have lost 25 lbs so far. Sleep eludes me. I try to eat and images of the girl I want to marry with another man flash in my mind. I don't know how to stop it. I am pretty much a walking disaster. I had a friend move into my house so I can afford to keep it. But it doesn't feel like home anymore. She brought such light to my life and all of that is gone.
I am so sorry I missed Turkeyball. That is the first one I have missed since joining the team. My immune system has taken quite a hit and being out in the cold the day before at the Iowa game I got sick. I struggle just to get up in the morning. I don't know what to do.
I'm sorry I have been absent. I just gotta get myself sorted out and I am not real sure how to do it. I love you guys and I am sorry I didn't tell you sooner.

Area Games / Tombstone in OKC October 3-4
« on: July 22, 2015, 12:01:27 PM »
Kraus from the B.O.B.'s and I were talking and he asked if we were interested in coming to Oklahoma for Tombstone. I would like to try to make it to this. Travis Posey and some of the other guys from D-Day will be playing for Kraus. I would like to get the opportunity to actually shoot with Posey instead of him having to just stand there and watch. Anyone else interested in going?

Kraus do you have more details on the event?

Area Games / Lost/found?
« on: May 21, 2015, 09:22:58 PM »
going through gear tonight making sure everything is ready for D-Day and I realized I'm missing one of my radios. Did anyone wind up with an extra Midland LXT480 radio?

If not I am going to have to order a new set. The one I still have wont charge the battery even with the new rechargeable batteries I bought. Speaking of which, I bought a set of 4 replacement batteries for the LXT series radios if someone needs a new battery. They were pretty cheap.

Paintball News and Media / FSR banned at Living Legends
« on: May 10, 2015, 01:22:41 PM »
so apparently CPX's insurance company told them that they have never approved First Strike rounds for use. Banned them from Legends. Cited that the fins are not gelatin, like the casing of a paintball, therefore they potentially are more risky to masks and eye protection.

I have seen people exclusively using FSR at Legends. People are going to get crabby considering it is 5 days before the event.
