Paintball News and Media / Hidden Hedgehog
« on: December 30, 2018, 05:31:02 PM »
Man! Talk about bucket list paintball events! I am just floored by the fields Hedgehog gets to play on around Europe. Their support for mag-fed seems pretty high too. Check out his YouTube channel.

Looks like my speculation was correct. LL12 will be held at Legacy Paintball in Lockport IL.  I want to play that field! So it looks like I know where my big game trip next season will be!

Friends and Family / Joe Joe "Jacket" Styles
« on: August 20, 2018, 09:47:40 PM »
Most of you know Joe, some newer guys don't, he is who first brought me to the team. When I was given 2 A-5's for payment on a debt, I gave one to Joe and we played some outlaw ball. He ran into Bill at Scheels, and Bill invited us to come play with the team. I have been home ever since. Well he is in the hospital. His health has been a bit of a roller coaster. He took a pretty rough turn today. Was rushed to the hospital. Blacked out in the ER. Lost all feeling in his arms and legs. He is stable now but still in the hospital. If you have his number I know he would like to hear from you. Maybe after he is home. He can definitely use your thoughts and prayers. I will keep you posted.

Area Games / Vietnam at CJ's August 25th
« on: August 15, 2018, 04:22:27 PM »
Kraus from the BOB's hit me up asking if we were gonna be coming down to Vietnam. I honestly forgot about it. But I think I can make it work. It is a Saturday. Kraus did make the comment that it would be good to have us out for at least one local game.

Anybody wanna roll with?

Area Games / Blastcamps The Purge October 28th
« on: August 01, 2018, 10:57:36 AM »
I was chatting with a couple of T-15 operators on Facebook about local scenarios in the Midwest. I told them we were interested in a scenario in October. They said they were going to Blastcamp for the Purge. It is October 28th and it is a bring your own paint scenario.
For those that don't know Blastcamp is the decommisioned Nike missile base.....

Area Games / Change O plans......
« on: July 25, 2018, 12:14:44 AM »
Since my Operation Starlite plans got derailed by a birthday party, I am gonna go out to the field around 2-3 and set up some kind of targets at 100, 150, 200, and 300 ft. Maybe in the junkyard area so I don't get in the way of games and spend the afternoon getting used to the T-15 and First Strikes. I bought 100 strictly for practice shooting. I want to get myself used to judging distances with my scope. Adjusting for drop at distance and just overall making myself be as deadly as I can with an FSR marker at our next game.

If anyone wants to come out and shoot some FSR with me to see what it is like, how it flies, how it differs from round ball you are welcome to come with. Bring your mask. I plan to be in full kit because I want to know exactly how this is gonna be.

Wes stopped by my shop and shot a couple rounds at 110 ft and said he was super impressed by how accurate it was. If this is gonna be my primary gun I want it/me dialed in!

LIVING LEGENDS 12 (May 17-19th) / Two weeks away!
« on: April 21, 2018, 05:12:23 PM »
2 weeks out gentlemen! What last minute things do you still need to take care of? I actually think I am on track.

Anybody else starting to get excited?!

Area Games / 2018 Muddy Scenario
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:40:10 AM »
I wanted to pull this from the Children's thread so we can discuss. I am really going to throw my hat in for the Clowns vs Zombies event at Paintball Explosion in October. With CPX closing, this is possibly the only other premier paintball park that is still within drive time for us. At least until we hear more abut Legacy Paintball. Legacy is getting a lot of promotion from the Dagninos (owners of CPX). They have said Legacy is making a large expansion investment so we will see.

Area Games / Caveball 2018
« on: December 28, 2017, 03:24:17 PM »
Sounds like Kraus and the BOB's are going down on Feb 25th. That is a Saturday. Do we want to plan on going then too? It may be too short notice for a trip in January already.

Paintball News and Media / Living Legends 11 not at CPX Sports this year
« on: December 13, 2017, 01:49:21 PM »
From Paul Dagnino co-owner of CPX;

CPX to move Living Legends 11 - Inferno, to the legendary Hell Survivors in Pinckney, MI for 2018.

The reason behind the move is the imminent construction of a bridge that will span the Des Plains River and connect Houbolt Rd to an extended Vetter Rd. The project, which is slated to begin in the Spring, will have a construction footprint that includes the eastern most border of CPX Sports - parts of which are close to Living Legends camping, staging, fields of play, and insertion points. In the interests of safety and liability, we’ve made the decision to move the event to an incredible, iconic Midwest paintball park while construction is underway.
The world-famous Hell Survivors is a 180-acre complex, conveniently located less than 45-minutes from Detroit Metro Airport, that has a 35-year history of hosting some of Paintball’s most notable large events - Michigan Monster Game and World Challenge. The neighboring cities of Brighton and Howell have all the amenities you’re used to and have come to expect - including plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars.

It is our sincere hope that you join us as we take Living Legends on the road and bring it to one of Paintball’s most celebrated and historic big game fields. Pre-registration will open tomorrow and feature our best promotional incentives to date.

Paintball News and Media / ASTM approves Shaped Projectiles
« on: October 26, 2017, 04:55:53 PM »
Looks like the ASTM has finally revised and added shaped projectiles (First Strike Rounds) to their safety list. I am not going to pay the $46 to download the PDF but it is all over the Mag-Fed boards that I am a member on.

Area Games / Vietnam Saturday Sept 9
« on: September 05, 2017, 01:04:08 PM »
Anyone have any interest in hitting this up with me? I am planning on going and have room in the Stormtrooper if someone needs a ride.

Area Games / Sunday 2/19/17 CJ's for rec play
« on: February 17, 2017, 05:40:31 PM »
Tom Sturges the CO for Broken Arrow has invited any of us that want to roll down to CJ's for a day of rec play Sunday. I can't make it, I have family in town, but he said if anyone wants to go to let me know so I can tell him and he will buy your paint on his membership so you get his discount. Any savings is a good thing!

Gun Tech / Marker Cerakoting
« on: December 07, 2016, 10:50:15 AM »
Ok I know there was already a thread about this but it was way old and I couldn't find it anyway. I made a contact through an OPD buddy of mine with a guy that does more Cerakoting on firearms here in town. I feel he will be more reasonably priced and easier to work with than the guy who did my Axe. I got the impression, with some time of not getting any other paintball work, that the guy I used before would want an arm and a leg to do more markers.

I have reached out to this new guy and left him a voicemail for him to call me. When I hear back I will have more info in regards to pricing ideas, availability, and turn around times. He works for Midwest Firearm Solutions and the pix of the guns he has done look amazing!
